Battleframe progression requires a combination of XP, crystite, resources and sometimes crafted tokens. Here’s a calculator that shows all the requirements to help you organise your resources and currencies.
“Tokens” refers to the frame-specific progression tokens needed to unlock boxes 8, 9, and 10 of each constraint. If you’d like to know more about these tokens and how to make them, check out our Battleframe Progression Tokens Cheatsheet.

I believe your token calculations might be a off – might have a been change in a patch, not sure though. Progressing 1-10 yields 4 tokens in each of mass, cpu, power. Which would yield 12 tokens and not 18…
The tokens referred to in the calculator are the progression tokens you have to craft to unlock boxes 8, 9 and 10 – not the pilot tokens that unlocking boxes gives you. This calculator is all about the costs of progression, not the rewards. :) I’ll adjust the text to make the nature of the tokens a bit clearer.
